American Ashley Harkleroad knew what she was doing when after the drubbing she said she had posed nude for Playboy magazine.
The 23-year-old American said she would be in the August edition.
The 23-year-old noted other athletes who have appeared in the magazine, including Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard and former volleyball player Gabrielle Reese.
"I'll be the first tennis player ever. That's kind of cool," Harkleroad said.
"There's a few reasons why I did it, but I can't really go into it right now," she added. "But like I said, I really didn't think it was that big of a deal. I'm proud of my body. I stay in shape and try to stay fit."
Williams, an eight-time Grand Slam champion, said she respected Harkleroad's decision to pose for the men's magazine, but ruled out her own pictorial.

Ashley Force has been named the winner of the first annual "Hottest Athlete" poll on AOL Sports.
The Web site's users voted on the best-looking men and women in sports over several weeks and National Hot Rod Association star Force beat out New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and fellow motorsports competitor Danica Patrick for the honor.
Force, the daughter of longtime NHRA star John Force, spent two seasons in the entry-level Super Comp class and three more in the Top Alcohol Dragster class before becoming the 10th woman in NHRA history to earn a license to compete in the Funny Car division.
"While competing in Top Alcohol, she won five NHRA national events including the biggest event in the sport, the 2004 U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. Force and her father made racing history in April when they became the first father and daughter to race against each other.

Anna Rawson piece on E:60 and have Googled ogled her numerous times when she’s passed by on the television. I’ll admit she’s got the looks to earn the LPGA some big bucks in the future. Shoot, she’s already earning a better living off the course modeling for various designers.

But if there’s one things that’s missing from that gorgeous face, it’s a solid golf game. During the E:60 interview, the LPGA’s VP of communications, David Higdon, was asked what Rawson needed to do to become the face of the LPGA. Higdon held his hands above his head like he was holding a trophy. Just like Anna Kournikova when she was playing on the WTA, Rawson needs to find a way to get inside the top 50 world rankings and win a tournament or two – at least.

She definitely didn’t go in the right directions this weekend at the Women’s British Open, shooting an opening round 82 to fall completely off the map. She followed that up with a 5-over 77 to finish at 15-over for the tournament. That just won’t do for the future face of the LPGA.
